The safeguarding of vulnerable adults is a vital part of the role of a support worker, manager or anyone who comes into contact with those vulnerable adults. It is a topic which is fundamental in caring for or supporting for people who are unable to safeguard themselves.
This session looks at the principles of safeguarding and the essential knowledge which is required to safeguard effectively, but also looks at how to put this into practice, what to be aware of and how, when and what to report in any given situation.
Session Overview
What safeguarding is and the main principles, related legislation and policies, categories and indicators of abuse, the difference between poor practice and abuse, effective responding and reporting, and Whistleblowing.
